Every Christian woman should ask herself...

If you don't know who you are, you will never be all you can be!

To be a Christ-following woman means you define yourself only by Biblical standards!

Why? Because culture and Christianity have conflicting viewpoints as to what a woman should be.

Three Things Christian Women Must Understand...

A woman is not defined by External Traits but Internal Characteristics.
The Real definition for a woman is found in the Image of God!
Culture will Never, nor has Ever, had the capability to define what a Real Woman is!

What is a pattern that God's Word gives us?

Proverbs 31:12-31

These verses give us a pattern for a Virtuous and Capable wife.

- What is Biblical Virtue?
  - The term "virtue" in Greek often refers to "moral excellence" and "goodness." A virtue is a right inner tendency to act in certain ways. It differs from a sudden impulse; it's more of an internalized reflective trait. Virtues are general character traits that provide inner sanctions on our particular motives, intentions, and outward conduct.
- What is Biblical Capability?
  - Having the ability to become Virtuous
  - Using Biblical truth to grow one's inner tendencies to act in a Christ-like manner

Proverbs 31 is intended for a godly wife... but a godly wife is simply a godly woman living godly characteristics.

Realizing those things, let's look at...

Ten Primary Characteristics of a Christ-following Woman...

1. Godly Women Are Trustworthy...

2. Godly Women Are Productive...

- Proverbs 31:13, 16-19
- Godly women are Not Lazy!
- Ecclesiastes 9:10
- God's plan for women is to teach their children to work hard.

3. Godly Women Have Financial Wisdom...

- Proverbs 31:14,16
- They are often the manager of the family budget.
- God's plan is for women to lead their family, with their husband, in financial responsibility.

4. Godly Women Are Generous...

- Proverbs 31:20
- They look toward the needs of others.
- They then take action to fulfill those needs.
- They serve others sacrificially.
- God's plan is for women to help their husbands and family understand generosity.

5. Godly Women Are Excellent Managers...

- Proverbs 31:15,21,27
- They manage every day like it is their last.
- They have great initiative.
- They manage their personal life first, then others.
- God's plan for women is to model management through her family and in her business.

6. Godly Women Are Feminine and Modest...

7. Godly Women Are Wise and Kind...

- Proverbs 31:26
- They are full of wisdom.
- They speak their heart's convictions.
- Their mind is concerned with pleasing God through their family.
- Their gentleness and kindness shows they are a true lady.

8. Godly Women Have the Fear of God...

- Proverbs 31:30
- Their fear is based on being free from evil to please their Heavenly Father.
- They understand that this kind of fear will keep their actions true to godliness.
- God's plan for women is to model godliness through their deep respect for God.

9. Godly Women Are Obedient...

- Proverbs 31
- Because of this whole section of Scripture, we know godly women are obedient to their God because they are godly in all they do.
- Godly women model to their family obedience through their lives.

10. Godly Women Are Joyful...

- Proverbs 31:25
- A godly woman that is unselfish, and whose life is filled with Jesus, will radiate with joy!
- A godly woman will be a joyful woman and an example to all that know her.
- God's plan for women is to bring cheer to their family through their surrendered lifestyle.

Steps To Godliness... Titus 2:2-5

The Rewards...

A godly woman is a reward to her husband and a blessing to God.
A godly woman will be praised wherever she goes.
A godly woman's husband & children will rise up and give God glory because of her.
