God's Plan for Men

Every Christian male should ask himself... "What makes me a man"? A more important question... "What makes me a godly man"?

Men... If we don't know who we are, we will never be all we can be in Christ Jesus!

To be a Christ following man means we define ourselves only by Biblical standards!

Why? Because culture and Christianity have conflicting viewpoints as to what a man should be.

Three things Christian men must understand...

1. A man is not defined based on external traits, but Internal Characteristics!

2. The real definition of a man is found in the image of God!

3. Culture will never nor has ever had the capability to define a real man!

Knowing and Understanding this, let's look at... 7 Primary Qualities of a Christ Following Man...

1. Real Men reflect Christ's Image!

• • Genesis 1:26
  • Romans 8:29
  • Adam was created in the image of God and so are we!
  • When we are reborn, we are recreated in the image of Jesus and should reflect Him!
    • How? We become transparent (die to) to our flesh nature and reflect Christ!
  • If those around us do not see Jesus through us, we are not Real Men!

2. Real Men are full of Integrity and Wisdom!

• • Acts 6:3
  • Filled with the Spirit = Integrity
  • James 3:13
  • A Christ following man will not be a fool!
  • A Christ following man in the world we live in, will be visible!
  • The good works that James is talking about is practicing right actions in all we do...
  • Integrity and wisdom in men will be displayed first in our families and then practiced in the world!
  • If we are not men of integrity and wisdom, we are not Real Men!

3. Real Men live to be a follower!

• • Matthew 10:22
  • Men, if you are loved by the world, you probably aren't following Jesus.
  • Matthew 16:24
  • Men, we can be very selfish creatures.
  • Turning from selfishness is a constant activity.
  • Dying to self or complete surrender is the only way we can be a Real Man!

4. Real Men lead in worship.

• • 1 Peter 3:15
  • Men, if Jesus is not Lord of your life, in most cases neither will He be your families Lord.
  • Zephaniah 1:5
  • Too many men today choose to worship Molech instead of God.
  • Real men understand the responsibility of leading their families in life!

5. Real Men follow Christ's example.

• • Matthew 10:38
  • Men, we must understand the example Jesus left and choose to carry that in our lives.
  • Titus 2:7
  • 1 Corinthians 11:1
  • Are you that kind of example?
  • The example of Jesus will not be the status quo... You will be different.
  • Real Men look different to the world because of who they follow.

6. Real Men are men of prayer.

• • Ephesians 6:18
  • As a man, are you comfortable with an active prayer life like this?
  • Contrary to popular belief, women are not more effective in prayer than men.
  • James 5:16
  • Men have a responsibility to intercede through prayer just as much as women.
  • A praying man is a Real Man!

7. Real Men are students of God's Word!

• • 2 Timothy 2:15
  • Men, do we have the hunger for God's Word that we need to?
  • Are we capable of explaining the truth of the Word?
  • Acts 13:6-8
  • Satan wants all men to believe the Word of God is for weaklings!
  • Real Men strive to live in alignment with God's Word.
